The Master Navigator Course is known for being physically demanding—many students train months in advance and use it as preparation for Special Operations selection courses. As of 2025, students now have the option to opt out of the Top Team competition and no longer need to carry all gear during navigation lanes. This significantly reduces physical strain and allows students to focus entirely on learning. The lane distances remain the same, and those seeking additional challenge are still welcome to complete the course in its original format. Mastering the skills remains the primary goal of this training.
