Description
During this workshop, students will make their very own primitive blowgun using natural rivercane that will be hollowed out and straightened by hand. Students will also make several darts that will be fletched using different techniques and resources, including thistle, cotton, and feathers. This will allow students to understand dart-making and fletching techniques thoroughly and gives the student the ability to fletch darts with almost anything. In addition, students will make quivers to hold and carry their darts.
During the workshop, there will also be lectures on the historical use of the blowgun with replica examples to examine. The workshop will finish with shooting techniques and practice to enhance students’ ability to hit targets.
