With extreme temperature transitions from “shorts-weather” to blizzards in just a 12-hour time frame, the high deserts and low mountains near Moab, UT, proved to be the perfect location for this incredible film. They show “skills in context,” where you not only learn the skills themselves but get to see them in use in a highly entertaining way. This film showcases 5:52 hours of fundamental desert skills.

    Amazing training aid for learning long term primitive skills.
    Kirsten has tons of experience and is very good at explaining her processes for survival.
    I always appreciate a competent instructor and she seems highly capable of living off the land with minimal gear for an extended period of time.

    My first thought was “I’m never going camping in the high desert” but it occurred to me that i certainly have had times when a warm morning made me misjudge how cold it would get by the next morning.
