Thompson Snares Survival Snare Kit – 2 Snares
The History of Thompson Snares
In 1918, Raymond Thompson began his Snare building and in 1927 patented the first steel snare; a design that is still widely used today. Mr. Thompson operated The Raymond Thompson Company until his death in the mid-1980s at which time ownership transferred to his grandson, Dick Sinrud. Mr. Sinrud continued his grandfather’s innovations in the snaring industry throughout his ownership in the company.
His most recent accomplishment being the patenting of the Thompson™ New Release Lock; a device that allows snaremen the opportunity to abide by state and federal cable restraint regulations while also allowing the re-use of some snares. The company name was changed to Thompson Snares in 2007.
In June of 2009, the Davis family purchased the company from Mr. Sinrud and relocated the business to Northeast Missouri. They owned the company until the fall of 2019, when Carrie and I purchased the company and relocated it to Hortense, Georgia.
