Description

Rite in the Rain Tough Mechanical Clicker Pencil, Orange

Rite in the Rain pencils are built to be tough, dependable, and refillable. They are built to survive. This is an all-weather pencil that pairs perfectly with your waterproof notebook. It features rust-resistant materials so you can keep working in any conditions.

The barrel is safety blaze orange for high visibility if you drop it in the woods. It is made of durable ABS and features a metal pocket clip.

The knurled-metal grip and one-hand click lead advancement offer glove-friendly handling.

The 1.3mm thick lead won’t snap at the tip or break in the shaft, so you can write in a notebook just as easily as it can mark lumber. The dark lead is easy to see on maps and notebooks. The extra long 120mm leads mean you won’t have to stop and refill the lead as often. It is easy to reload, simply drop another lead into the shaft under the eraser cap.

The eraser is a low-residue rubber eraser that is replaceable.

Specs:

  • 6″ L, barrel .3125″ D, grip .4375″ D
  • Weight: .06 lbs
  • Made in China

Is this magnetic?

The knurled grip is BRASS which is non-ferrous and doesn't affect a compass. The pocket clip may, but we've seen no issues during Land Nav with this pencil.

Can you replace/refill the lead?

Yes. Rite In The Rain sells replacements and any 1.3mm leads will work.

Is this a good pencil?

Yes. We would not sell it if it wasn't. Used by GB2 and his cadre in the field!

I never use pens. I am strictly a pencil guy. I can tell you that the extra thick lead on these is a) hard to break and b) much better for Rite in the Rain notebooks if they are wet. Good weight, knurled finger grip, and a bright color that’s harder to loose on the ground. My favorite pencil these days.

An especially robust mechanical pencil. It not only feels good in the hand, but makes a good mark on maps and Rite in the Rain notebooks.

Super thick lead works well when Rite in the Rain paper is wet. Durable and feels good in the hand.

It’s a mechanical pencil. I’ll found out how tough it is when I use it in the field. I’ll have an old fashioned wood and lead pencil too.

Not your ordinary mechanical pencil….this thing is built like it was made for the armored cav. I was completely pleased and surprised how durable this pencil was made.
