Care and Maintenance

Protect Your Knife

• Regularly treat the blade, handle, and sheath with a natural wax-based protectant to prevent rust and drying.
• Avoid storing the knife soiled or wet in its sheath for extended periods to reduce chances of corrosion.

Cleaning Tips

• Clean the blade and handle with mild soap and water, then dry completely before applying a protective wax or oil.
• Use a leather knife strop with honing compound for routine maintenance. When necessary, sharpen only with a wet sharpening stone to prevent heat damage to the blade's edge.

Leather Sheath Care

• If the leather sheath gets wet, let it dry naturally at room temperature before applying a wax protectant. Avoid using heat to speed up the process as this can cause the leather to dry out and crack.

Note that this knife not constructed with a hardened, sharpened spine to be used as a striker for a ferrocerium rod like many American knife models. Please do not attempt to file a 90-degree spine onto a laminated steel knife.
