A Timeless Knife Celebrating 80 Years of Tradition

The Helle Sigmund Fixed Blade Knife combines historical design with modern functionality, making it an exceptional tool for bushcraft, carving, and outdoor tasks. Designed by two generations of Helle craftsmen, this knife is a tribute to 80 years of Norwegian knife-making tradition, embodying both beauty and practicality.

Features of the Helle Sigmund Fixed Blade Knife

Triple Laminated Stainless Steel Blade

  • The 4.21-inch blade is crafted from Triple Laminated Stainless Steel, offering exceptional sharpness and resistance to corrosion.
  • A polished mirror finish enhances its aesthetic appeal, while the Scandinavian (Scandi) grind ensures precise cutting and carving capabilities.
  • Razor-sharp out of the box, this blade retains its edge and is easy to maintain.

Beautifully Crafted Stacked Handle

  • The handle is a masterpiece, constructed from stacked beech, dark oak, and leather, hand-sanded to a satin finish for a smooth and secure grip.
  • Its medium size fits comfortably in small to medium hands while remaining functional for larger hands.
  • A small finger guard provides added safety, guiding your hand into the optimal position for use.

Unique Leather Sheath with Scandinavian Design

  • The Sigmund knife comes with a genuine leather sheath featuring traditional Scandinavian patterns, double-stitched for durability.
  • Includes a leather belt loop for convenient carry, ensuring your knife is always within reach.

A Knife Steeped in Tradition

The Helle Sigmund was created to celebrate the 2012 anniversary of Helle knives. Designed collaboratively by Sigmund Helle in the 1930s and his son Torodd Helle in 2012, this knife represents the enduring legacy of Helle craftsmanship.

Care and Maintenance

Protect Your Knife

  • Regularly treat the blade, handle, and sheath with a natural wax-based protectant to prevent rust and drying.
  • Avoid storing the knife soiled or wet in its sheath for extended periods to reduce chances of corrosion.

Cleaning Tips

Leather Sheath Care

  • If the leather sheath gets wet, let it dry naturally at room temperature before applying a wax protectant. Avoid using heat to speed up the process as this can cause the leather to dry out and crack.
