The DC4 Sharpener is a whetstone with a combination of diamond and ceramic that will handle all your sharpening needs. The DC4 whetstone consists of a fine diamond stone (25 micron) on one side, and a very special ceramic stone (5 micron), made of synthetic sapphires, on the other.

The advantage of these materials is that they will still keep their flat shape as you sharpen your knife. These are some of the hardest materials known, so they are useful for sharpening any steel, even the extremely hard powder steels.
Complete Field Knife Sharpener
This sharpener can be used with or without lubrication (water or oil), but it is recommended to use water for any stone used in the field to extend the life of the sharpener and achieve that finely polished edge. The sharpening surfaces will only become better with use.
How to Sharpen Your Knife in the Field
Use the 25 micron Diamond side to take care of any major issues with your edge. Afterwards, you can hone the edge with the finer 5 micron Ceramic side. If you don't have any edge damage, skip the diamond plate and just use the Ceramic side to keep the edge honed.
The DC4 Sharpening Stone comes with a custom leather carrying case. This leather case can be used as a strop to finish off your blade edge.
Easy to Clean
Occasionally, you should clean the stone with warm water and soap, and dry it thoroughly.
